Introducing Wallace D. Huskonen
An avid genealogist for more than a decade, Wally Huskonen has researched his family history back
to a wide mix of original immigrant ancestors, ranging from 17th century Dutch and English settlers
in New York and New England on his mother's side to his paternal grandparents arriving from Finland
in the early 20th century.
To expand his knowledge and understanding of genealogical and family history research, he
regularly attends national, state, and local conferences, and he has completed the National
Genealogical Society Home Study course.
He is a member of the following organizations:

Ohio Genealogical Society
Cuyahoga Valley Genealogical Society, chapter of OGS
Ashtabula County Genealogical Society, chapter of OGS
North East Ohio Computer-Assisted Genealogy Society

He also is a member of the following lineage societies: First Families of Ohio, Society of Civil War
Families of Ohio, and Settlers and Builders of Ohio (charter member)
Wally is president of the Genealogical Committee, an auxiliary of the Western Reserve Historical Society,
and co-editor the WRHS Genealogy Bulletin.
Wally has given lectures on genealogical topics at several Ohio Genealogical Society conferences and to
several North East Ohio genealogical organizations.
He retired in 2002 as chief editor of two trade magazines for Penton Media, Inc., in Cleveland, and since then
has devoted his time to genealogy research, writing, and making presentations.
